Foro empresarial Cuba 2021

The Cuba Chamber of Commerce is delighted to invite you to participate in the Second Edition of the Cuba 2021 Business Forum, which will be held virtually from November 29 to December 2 of this year, with the aim of continuing promoting foreign trade and investment.

In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, this Forum will offer an excellent framework for discussion between national and foreign business representatives, the new actors of the Cuban economy, including those of the private sector, government officials, Chambers of Commerce and Trade and Investment Promotion Agencies, who wish to interact and exchange ideas on business and trade with the island.

This second Forum intends to provide a space for information sharing and exchange on the transformations of the Cuban economy. This will be an excellent opportunity to learn about Cuba's main export products (both goods and services) and business opportunities in prioritized areas such as the biopharmaceutical, tourism and food and agricultural sectors.

This event will also include for the first time a virtual fair, which will allow business representatives to exhibit their products through the Business Forum platform. Another Business Forum will be held with the participation of Cubans residing abroad who have business and investment interests in the island, which will contribute to further strengthen the links between Cubans that live abroad and those that live in Cuba.

Upon registration on the Forum's website, it will be possible to arrange work meetings with representatives of businesses from the external sector of the economy.

Registration will be open from October 4 to November 25.

ICC Campaign to end the pandemic in the Caribbean WEBINAR

Dear Members,

The Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce, along with the Caribbean Chambers of Commerce (CARICHAM) and the CARICOM Private Sector Organisation (CPSO) will partner with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) for a virtual webinar “Call to Action: the ICC Campaign to end the pandemic in the Caribbean”.  The ICC campaign is a global initiative executed through its national committees which seeks to advance measures to accelerate the end of the crisis.  The T&T Chamber has been a member of the ICC for over two decades.

The April 28th session is intended to start the conversation on the role of the private sector in the vaccination roll out. ICC Secretary General John W.H. Denton, AO, will deliver opening remarks, while the meeting will be moderated by the current Chair of CARICHAM.

Due to the importance of this discussion to the region, we are inviting businesses across the Caribbean to join the 90-minute Zoom webinar as we begin to chart the way forward out of COVID-19.  The discussion will examine and advocate for the adoption of the ICC’s roadmap for action. The roadmap is contexted in terms of five major downside risks. These include: Banking on vaccines as a silver bullet; Vaccine nationalism; Production disruptions; Trade logistics frictions; and Vaccine hesitancy.

DAIC International Women’s Day 2021 Webinar

DAIC International Women’s Day 2021 Webinar

IWD is a day to recognise how far we’ve come towards gender equality, and also how far we have left to go. Back in 1911, only eight countries allowed women to vote, equal pay for equal work was unheard of – if women were allowed to work at all – and reproductive rights were non-existent. We celebrate all women, in all their diversities.

We have come a long way. The global theme for International Women’s Day in 2021 is ‘Women in Leadership: Achieving an Equal Future in a COVID-19 World’. COVID-19 has impacted women and girls in profound ways, amplifying the inequalities they face every day. It is fundamental that diverse women’s voices and experiences are central to national and global recovery plans.

Join the DAIC on March 8th at 3:00-4:00 PM for a webinar on the topic ‘Women in Leadership: Achieving an Equal Future in a COVID-19 World’.

Moderated by Executive Director, Lizra Fabien, this webinar features four exceptional women leaders who are members of the Chamber: Evadney Esprit – Manager of DoIt Center and DAIC Director; Olive Strachan MBE – Founder and Owner of Olive Strachan Resources; Annette Lestrade – Business Owner of Compliance767; and Tamara Lowe – Country Manager of Tropical Shipping.

Ensure to tune in to understand the specific challenges faced by women due to COVID-19, to the wins made by women in leadership spotlighted and to gain insight into the strategies for achieving success by women in leadership in a COVID-charged business environment.

Be sure to share this with other women as we celebrate International Women’s Day! Of course, men are welcome too!
